School Development Plan 2020 - 2021

What are we aiming to improve in our school this year?

Every year, staff and governors identify aspects of our school that we want to develop, improve or instigate.

We select each year’s priorities by looking at:

  • School data about pupil progress and attainment
  • Keeping an eye on changes in education nationally
  • Giving a critical eye to what we’re already doing
  • Listening to the comments of pupils and parents
  • Our strategic plan for the school

Based on all of this, these are our priorities for this year:

Priority 1

Raising Standards and attainment through recovery form COVID-19. Whilst continuing to teach a broad and balanced curriculum we will identify gaps in the children's learning and ensure we support them to 'catch up' academically, socially and emotionally.

Priority 2

Raising standards through Computing. We will be implementing an online learning platform to support pupils' learning and also auditing and reviewing our computing curriculum and resources to ensure excellence in this area of learning.

Priority 3

Raising standards and attainment through reading and writing. We will continue to embed a culture that recognises and fosters a love of reading and writing for all our pupils. We will continue to review and enhance the phonics provision throughout the school, ensuring our children get off to the best possible start in learning to read, spell and write.

Priority 4

Raising standards by developing and improving school spaces. We have an ambitious project to develop a new school library that will be built on site, giving our pupils a very special place that they can read. We are improving our school kitchen and classrooms and want to maximise the use of our wonderful grounds to inspire great learning.

Priority 5

The Governing Body will be leading on exciting marketing and future sustainability projects.
