School Development Plan 2018-19

What are we aiming to improve in our school this year?

Every year, staff and governors identify aspects of our school that we want to develop, improve or instigate.

We select each year’s priorities by looking at:

  • School data about pupil progress and attainment
  • Keeping an eye on changes in education nationally
  • Giving a critical eye to what we’re already doing
  • Listening to the comments of pupils and parents
  • Our 3-year strategic plan for the school

Based on all of this, these are our priorities for this year:

Priority 1

Teaching, Learning and Assessment: To ensure standards in Phonics and spelling are above national expectations.

Priority 2

Leadership & Management: The 'Understanding Christianity' programme forms the basis of our RE curriculum as part of the new Wiltshire RE syllabus.

Priority 3

Behaviour, Personal Development and Well-being: That the school's vision is reflected in rigorous systems that keep everyone at school safe (physically, emotionally and mentally).

Priority 4

Pupil Outcomes: That a culture of reflective practice, which promotes and encourages independent learning behaviours, is embedded within the school.

Priority 5

That the Governing Body develops better links with all stakeholders and Hobbes Alliance Schools.
