School Development Plan 2021 - 2022
What are we aiming to improve in our school this year?
Every year, staff and governors identify aspects of our school that we want to develop, improve or instigate.
We select each year’s priorities by looking at:
- School data about pupil progress and attainment
- Keeping an eye on changes in education nationally
- Giving a critical eye to what we’re already doing
- Listening to the comments of pupils and parents
- Our strategic plan for the school
Based on all of this, these are our priorities for this year:
Priority 1
Raising Standards and attainment through reading. Reading is at the heart of all we do. We will be embedding the Read Write Inc. Phonics scheme across the school and encouraging reading for pleasure through the 'Wiltshire Year of Reading' for all of our pupils.
Priority 2
Raising standards through Maths. As part of the Mobius Maths Hub we will be continuing to embed Maths Mastery across the school, focusing on Mastering Number in Key Stage 1 and applying our problem solving skills every day in our maths lessons.
Priority 3
Raising standards and attainment through subject leadership. We will continue to work with subject leaders across the Hobbes Alliance to ensure that our curriculum offer is exciting, sequenced, diverse, knowledge rich and well planned throughout the school.
Priority 4
Raising standards and attainment through communication with all stakeholders. We will continue to find ways to effectively engage with parents and the community to enhance learning opportunities through a growing range of opportunities, including our website, social media and online meetings.
Priority 5
The Governing Body will be leading on attaining the Governor Mark.
