Hello George! Becky came to visit us this week, and brought along her friend George the Giraffe to help her teach us all about making healthy choices and being a good friend.
We love cricket on Thursdays with Vicky - it's so much fun playing all her games and we are learning important skills such as bowling, batting and fielding at the same time!
Beautiful butterflies! Thank you Herbie, for bringing your butterflies into school for us to release today, we loved watching them all fly away to enjoy our lovely school field in the sunshine!
Fabulous fencing! We had great fun taking part in a fencing session today - don't worry, no-one was hurt; we practised using foam foil.
Welcome to Crudwell, your majesty! We had great fun dressing up as kings and queens, and creating our own portraits to kick start our 'Magnificent Monarchs' topic.
Term 5 & 6 Magnificent Monarchs
School Days Term 4
Chestnut Class danced until they were ready to drop in our Comic Relief All Day Danceathon today! We loved dancing along to our favourite songs, but phew - who knew dancing could be such hard work?

Wonderful Westonbirt!
As part of our topic this term of 'Enchanted Woodland', Chestnut Class had a great day at Westonbirt Arboretum with our Education Leader Carron - we even managed to dodge the rain!
We explored lots of different trees by collecting and sorting leaves, seeds and seed cases and made some amazing natural art inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy. We also found out about squirrels as we hid acorns, and then tried to find them again later! An amazing fact: Did you know that squirrels bury over 4,000 acorns a year?
We had great fun doing PE with GB athlete and bob sleigh Olympic medallist Joe Fearon when he visited our school!
READING MEETING It was lovely to see so many of you but here is a copy of the presentation for those of you who couldn't make it. Happy reading!
Can you cross the road safely? We can! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit from our local Road Safety Officer Jill.
A Samba workshop is just what we need to get our RIO DE VIDA topic off to an exciting start!

Gymnastics in the sun!
As part of our 'Mix and Mingle' gymnastics unit, we had great fun creating and performing a sequence of balances in pairs and groups.

The RSPB Big School Bird Watch 2022
After finding out which birds we should be looking out for, we joined Willow Class on the field for some bird spotting!
It was very tricky not to be too noisy- we were all very excited but we didn't want to scare the birds away!
Making bird feeders.
Funny face and fabulous features!
We have had great fun exploring portraits and collage through our Art unit: Funny Faces and Fabulous Features. We have been busy collaging self portraits. Can you recognise any of us?

We have spent this week exploring the emergency services to tie in with our topic of 'Superheroes' and have found out about some real-life superheroes. We were very surprised to find that the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute) are a charity and people need to give them donations so that they can continue their amazing work. We had a Zoom call from Bill who works for the RNLI. He talked to us about water safety and showed us some amazing films of the crew at work which we've had great fun re-enacting on our role play. We decided to make some money for the RNLI. We made and iced boat biscuits with the help of Mrs McKaye, and made posters and flyers so that everyone would come to buy them. They were a great success and of course tasted delicious!
Thank you to everyone who came to our stall. We raised an amazing £26.50 for the RNLI.

Our Harvest service: Chestnut Class performed a song, and we shared a prayer we had written together.
Term 1 Role Play: We have worked together to create an alien spaceship - complete with control panel, log book, headphones and a giant windscreen to spot any planets or space rockets nearby.
Autumn 1: Moon Zoom
This term we are having fun finding out about what it might be like to explore the moon and beyond. So far we have made our very own space station, created aliens, watched videos of astronauts to see what life is like in space and found out about some of the planets in our solar system!
