Friends of Crudwell School

FOCS AGM

The FOCS Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday 8th November at 7.30pm. The plan is to have the meeting physically at Pettifers so long as this is still permitted subject to Covid 19.

At the AGM we will elect officers for the year, we need to appoint a new secretary as the current co-secretaries have indicated that they will be stepping down/won't be standing for election again.

If anyone is interested in being secretary or wishes to stand for any of the other posts, please let Hannah Cooper or Simon Cooper know.

About FOCS

Friends of Crudwell School (FOCS) is a registered charity (registered charity number: 1121210) and exists to support the school and to fundraise for the extras that make our children's learning a better experience. We also organise events that are fun for all and include the wider community.

All parents/carers of pupils at the school are automatically members of FOCS as are all members of staff. Any other person over the age of 18 wishing to offer appropriate support or help to the school may also apply to become a member.

’Virtual’ Christmas Fair 2020

FOCS are delighted to launch our first ever ‘Virtual’ Christmas Fair which we have strived to make a communal event open and to be enjoyed by all.

We have four fantastic competitions with some great prizes, guest judges and supported by some amazing local businesses. Start planning your entries today for Cutest Festive Pet, Best Dressed Christmas Tree, Creative Christmas Cake Decoration, and ‘Your Winter 2020’ Photograph. (Check out the competition page on the website for all the information.)

We are also very excited to introduce our Silent Auction. We have had some very generous, luxurious and unique donations, including a holiday, some beautiful jewellery, a spa day and much more… If you prefer the fun of a raffle, I imagine one of your neighbours or friends from the school is selling tickets!

Other highlights to look forward to include, exploring Crudwell with our 12 days of Christmas Treasure Hunt (maps can be bought from the Post Office) and participating in a light-hearted weekly festive fun competition just for the kids.

Want to earn that Christmas dinner? Why not clock up some miles on our December Santa Dash challenge with Leon Horton, Harry Barlow and Tim Bullock.

Lastly, don’t forget to explore our ‘Marketplace’ and donators page for great local gifts.

A calendar of all the events and dates to remember are available on the website.

Not the Crudwell Bike Ride - June 2020

If there is one thing to take away from 'Not the Crudwell Bike Ride' it is that the children of Crudwell School are AMAZING!!!!!

After 30 days of cycling they managed to cover 5,007 miles completing a virtual European tour including cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Rome, Budapest, Athens and back to Marseille. They cycled in pouring rain, scorching sunshine and 35mph winds, there were crashes and falls but they did not give up; they kept pedalling. Some learning to ride a bike for the first time, some developing from nervous riders to being able to ride 12 miles in a single ride and some riding everyday and covering 500, 600 or even 700 miles in the month.

There was also a fantastic team of adult and secondary riders. The whole school community covered 11,867 miles, further than London to Sydney!

Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising effort. The final amount raised is expected to be about £4,500 (incl. Gift Aid) which is more than double the initial target smiley. However, you are still able to donate at https://www.gofundme.com/f/not-the-crudwell-bike-ride if you have not already done so.

A massive congratulations to everyone who participated, every single one of you should be proud of your achievements, we certainly are! We look forward to signing you all for the school team when the proper Crudwell Bike Ride returns next year!

Santa Dash 2019

Malmesbury Carnival 2019 - 'Pirates of the Curry Bean'

May Fair 2019

Crudwell Crackers 2018

A team of parents/carers (named the 'Crudwell Crackers' by the pupils) had entered the Bath Half Marathon to raise money for FOCS. However, this was unfortunately cancelled due to snow. Not to put off, some of them decided to run a half marathon anyway, but around Crudwell instead of Bath!
