Mental Health and Wellbeing

Children should not face mental health problems alone. At Crudwell CE Primary School we support children's mental health and wellbeing in many ways. We have a trained Senior Mental Health Lead at school and also an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant who can help children and families.

We work closely with outside agencies and charities too, to provide support when needed.

Children's Commissioner As Children’s Commissioner it is my duty to promote and protect the rights of all children, with particular regard to children who are living away from home or receiving social care services. My priority is to listen to children across the country, to hear about their lives and champion their voices.

Save the Children We work in homes, nurseries, schools and communities to narrow the gap between children living in poverty and their better off classmates.

NSPCC We help children who’ve been abused, protect children at risk, and find the best ways to prevent child abuse from ever happening. Our services are a vital part of keeping children safe. Across the UK and Channel Islands, we work directly with children and families in our national and regional hubs. We also give support to thousands of children and young people who need us through Childline. And our Helpline is there for any adult who is concerned about a child. We work with schools up and down the country through our Speak out Stay safe programme, which helps keep children safe from abuse. And projects like Together for Childhood support families and transform the way communities come together to prevent abuse and neglect.

Mental Health Helpline A children and young people’s mental health helpline has launched in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. The helpline will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering advice, guidance and support to children, young people and carers. Anyone concerned about a child or young person’s mental health, or a child or young person themselves, can phone the helpline and speak to mental health experts over the telephone. The helpline should not be used for situations which are life threatening. In this case emergency services should be notified by phoning 999.

Place2Be Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity with over 30 years’ experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools. We provide mental health support in schools through one-to-one and group counselling using tried and tested methods backed by research. In addition, we also offer expert training and professional qualifications.
