Land Art - Part 2 - Clay Faces
Inspired by the images from The Lost Gardens of Heligan, in Cornwall and The Green Man. The children created their own clay human faces on the trunks of trees in our school grounds. They gathered extra natural resources, which they found near by, to merge into their clay structure.
Land Art - Part 1
During this term the children are learning about the genre of land art. They began their learning through working in the outdoors to explore the sculptural potential of natural materials. Take a look at their stunning creations!

Ancient Egyptian All day Workshop- with Egyptology in Schools
The children had a Pharaoh-nomenal day learning about all things ancient Egyptian. They reflected on Howard Carter and his teams discoveries, from: decoding hieroglyphics; counting using the ancient Egyptian number symbols; learning about important artifacts discovered in the tombs of the Pharaohs; creating their own scarab beetles and shabti figurines from clay; as well as the grewsome process of mummification! A Tomb-tastic immersive experience delivered by Ali from Egyptology In Schools.
Dyson Foundation STEAM Day
Through out the day the children took part in activities designed by Dyson Foundation. They made helicopters, balloon powered cars and even designed and created their own boats!
During the day we had a film crew in to take some shots of us at work as engineers. Check out the YouTube link below to see the promotional film created by The Dyson Foundation of STEAM in action.
