Swimming

Children have swimming lessons at Cirencester Leisure Centre as part of their PE lessons. Each session is for an hour, which is over a whole term - about 10 sessions -in Years 2, 3 and 4. During the lessons children are taught in three ability groups by qualified instructors. Children who have not achieved the KS2 swimming requirements by the end of their series of lessons will have further sessions in Year 6.

We welcome parent help in accompanying the children to and from the swimming pool and have a weekly 'volunteers' rota.

The Leisure Centre is open to members of the public during swimming sessions although we have sole access to the changing facilities and the pool. There is additional safeguarding guidance for this in the document below.
