As a school, we follow the Read Write Inc. scheme for phonics. We start by introducing this in EYFS, and continue to explicitly teach phonics throughout Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2). In some cases, phonics teaching may continue for certain children beyond this point where this is considered the most appropriate way for that child to continue learning reading and spelling.
